Stone facade of Lyme Park in Cheshire. Lots of architectural features including composite columns (scrolls of ionic fame with a little but of fancy Corinthian thrown in). The house is Tudor and Elizabethan at its heart. However, in the C18th, its facades were remodelled by Italian architect Giacomo Leoni in a classical style. Photograph taken looking up at an angle so the pediment at the top looks almost flat (it isn't in reality). Blue sky behind. Lyme Park is run very well by the National Trust. Great day out, especially if you're into architecture, interiors, Pride and Prejudice or beautiful grounds.
