Center right, a Carolina Chickadee is perched on a small branch of tree, facing left, looking right. These birds are very similar in size, shape and color to Black-capped Chickadees with their black caps, black bibs and white bellies and stark white cheeks. Where they differ is the Carolina has less white on wings and their territories rarely overlap. Though, where they do, hybridization does occur. Whenever I hear a Carolina Chickadee's call, they sound as if on speed... saying their "Chickadee dee dee" pattern at a much faster rate than their Black-capped cousins.

Pine warbler, center right of frame, sitting on birdbath its reflection on the water's surface. Pines are aptly named for living in pine forests. They are fairly large for warblers with a stout bill, yellow throat and yellow-olive face and back with blurry streaks down their sides.

Am aptly named, Yellow-throated Warbler perched on suet feeder, center right of frame. They are a large warbler with long body and bill. Adults have a yellow throat, black mask and a white eyebrow.

In fact, they are the smallest dabbling duck in N America.

Black-bellied Whistling Duck is a large Duck with a long neck with a pink bill and legs who behaves more like a goose than duck.
