SlenderWolf In With the In Crowd
Chapter 11
It’s Just Not Cricket
“Seligman?”
“He was a Harvard professor!”
• “If you want to be happy for an hour, get drunk!”
• “If you want to be happy for a while, get married!”
• “If you want to be happy for a lifetime, get a nice garden! With a water feature if you can.”
“Seligman was talking about ‘biophilia’, an innate tendency of human beings to seek connections with nature and with wildlife. Humans like nature, and greenery. Running water, birds, butterflies. And fish, and small furry animals. And the more we experience this, the happier and more productive we are. The whole of Wolfland is our beautiful garden, and it’s on our doorstep!”
“We’re going to connect with all of the wolves today. They will connect with us, I’m sure. You’ll have to stay calm and follow my advice. They do a lot of non verbal comms. The first thing they will want to do is smell us.
A watercolour picture of a charming young man aged 17. He has neat well groomed brown hair, his eyes are bright blue, and his face has an a simple, polite smile although it looks as if he's concentrating. He's wearing a plain white T shirt against a light grey background. The image is labelled NutJob.
A watercolour painting of an attractive young girl aged 17. She has beautiful long straight deep brown hair and her eyes are chestnut coloured. Her face has a gentle expression with a hint of a smile. She is wearing a plain white T shirt (and blue jeans out of shot). The image is labelled KristalClear (an animal lover, she is demi-psychic, but struggles with reading the minds of humans).
