Amb la mestria que li caracteritza amb els pinzells narra la vida del tal Fouché, un tipus menyspreable que surà durant bona part del segle XIX, canviant-se de jaqueta sempre que li era convenie nt per a estar en el poder, i , de pas arribar a ser l’home més ric de França.
