The front of my hot pink As If Lite Tee by Shay Johnson. This rewrite of the As If Tee was a collaboration with Magpie Fibers, and I used their yarns Swanky Sock and Plume. The latter is a cashmere silk blend that looks and feels like a mohair silk lace yarn except softer. The lower body of the sweater and the peaked bust line are knit with both yarns held together, as are the collar and cuffs. The section above the bust is knit in Plume alone, making it delightfully sheer and airy. This color was part of Magpie’s summer 2023 collection, where all the colors had amazing 70s dance music names.
The back of my As If Lite Tee. I don’t like wearing sleeveless or short sleeve tops, so I needed something other than the original cap sleeve design. This was a bit tricky, because the top—at least the section where the two breast peaks are—has to be knit flat, and I don’t particularly like drop shoulders, so picking up sleeves from the cap ends wouldn’t work. I decided to put a centered seam in the middle of the back and to make the tops of set-in sleeves with decreases around the shoulders. Then I knit down from the armholes (which I provisionally cast on) until I had the length I wanted and finished with the cuffs.
