When Monday night feels like a Sunday, I need uplifting music to keep my energy (and spirit) afloat. This weekend thrift shop find fits the bill: a 3LP Jerry Cole & The Stingers set in unplayed condition. Not sure what is more unusual, that: (a) the records are basically mint condition... (b) they made a boxed set for a frequently unnamed faceless studio session guitarist (Wrecking Crew adjacent) or (c) that it was on a US Vogue label which I've never seen before (basically same as Crown / Kent level LPs). I started collecting Jerry Cole's plethora of low budget (but often great) surf/guitar instrumental albums 6-8 years ago and now I have too many I fear. Many likely the same but repackaged. I'll have to figure out where these recordings appeared elsewhere. Still, for a buc, I couldn't leave this behind.
