Sitting on a #cindercone on #taosmesa contemplating my favorite mountain, #sanantoniomountain, another extinct #volcano (10,908’). It is called Kay Pʼin (‘bear mountain') by Tewa-speaking peoples in the Rio Grande valley, and is known as the mountain of the north in their cosmology. [Wikipedia]

This was a storm moving through the mesa last night. There was lots of lightning but I didn’t capture it. Kinda resembled a mushroom cloud 🍄‍🟫 ☁️.

After spending 9 am - 4 pm enjoying massage and soaking in the hot springs at #OjoCaliente (mental health day and early 61st birthday present to myself), I captured these breathtaking images heading home across #taosmesa. Methinks the #redwillowpeople were hard at work during their quiet time.
