A beautiful morning to go moth-trapping in the Botanic Gardens with the cherries in full bloom. Great to see some new students joining us too. 10 people, and lots of moths: Clouded drab, Hebrew characters, Common quakers, Lichen tortrix and even a Pine beauty #cubotanicgarden #moths #teammoths

Spurred on by feeds for #norfolkmoths, #norfolkbirds I decided to experiment creating a feed for #cambsmoths - post with hashtags #cambsmoths #cambridgeshiremoths or #vc29moths should be included (except - I've never done this before, so... #teammoths #mothmatters)

Untold fun & games with epic tech fail (actually no fun, just games) across the last few days. Back down to somewhere adjacent to calm vibes now, so here's some moths from a milder Tuesday this week. Winter Moths & Mottled Umbers.

My walk in to the city this morning took me past the building site whose night-lit fence panels have previously been good for moths & they didn't disappoint today, with at least 5 Winter moths & 1 lovely Mottled umber. #TeamMoths

What a morning! Best nights sleep in weeks led me to a bird robbed trap, even still it was a pretty good trap! 13/7. Best had to be a very battered, worn out pink barred sallow nfy, next the winter moth nfy, beaded chestnut and white point made up the numbers #teammoths

Helicoverpa armigera, known to some as Cotton Bollworm, Corn Ear Worm, Old World Bollworm, or Scarce Bordered Straw. New for the year in the garden here in Cambs, an hour or two after dusk 31st August.
