#TwoPageTuesday #Scriptsky
Throwing you two pages from the big action climax to #AMAZON, my try at a Romancing The Stone style action-romcom. It never got much traction, yet my kids still quote from it and refer to gags in it more than a decade later. Which is cool.

Ummm, why isn't this showing up in the hashtag?

#TwoPageTuesday from Blood Drive. When an abused single mom marries a small town doctor, she uncovers a ring of vampires embedded in his pediatric unit - and within her new family - forcing her to become the monster-hunter her past prepared her to be. THE INVISIBLE MAN x GET OUT
#TwoPageTuesday it is:
HUMBUG
When a new teacher reveals to students that Santa is the product of a marketing campaign, outraged parents dox her and weaponize a teenage abortion, to have her fired -- while a much darker truth behind her pregnancy threatens to destroy far more than one career.
#TwoPageTuesday from my WIP.
Really hoping to build up my Act 1 for some fun twists in the 3rd Act, so we'll see if I can accomplish that. Feels a bit like I'm writing a prequel to my pilot, 3LLA. #Scriptsky

ECU of an eye with DON'T BLINK, Written by Kelly Asher in white text A man prying his eyes open. OVER BLACK HEAVY, RAGGED BREATHING. Not around us. Inside us. Rattling our skull. INT. ONE-ROOM HOUSE - DAY Bloodied, mangled BODIES and decapitated heads with eyes squeezed shut litter a splintered plank floor. SUPER: 1892 Half-hidden beneath the dead -- A OUIJA BOARD. BLINK and you miss it. Against the wall, a FRAIL MAN drenched in blood. His quivering chin rests on the barrel of a shotgun. His bloodshot eyes, drowning in terror, flicker with each stuttering breath. They get smaller...smaller... EXT. ONE-ROOM HOUSE - DAY BANG! The shotgun blast echoes across the barren landscape. The sun sets. Rises. Sets again -- in fast succession, as blood oozes from the walls within. INT. ONE-ROOM HOUSE - DAY The CLANK of spurred boots as they scuff through the crimson wasteland, until one step snags -- a spur lodged deep in a bodiless arm. A good shake of the boot and the bloody limb flumps off, landing on blood splatter that forms a symbol. The boots belong to SHERIFF BILL (50), cowboy hat, chaps, and a stoic, weathered face with a smoldering cigar clenched between his teeth. Rookie Deputy BUDDY (25), scrawny and scared of his own shadow, navigates the body parts like landmines until he and Sheriff Bill are side by side. Buddy gulps to ease the lump in his throat. BUDDY Whaddya suppose... SHERIFF BILL Can only be one thing. Sheriff Bill draws on his cigar, the embers glow a fiery red. A pained exhale as he surveys the mayhem. SHERIFF BILL The work of the devil himself. Buddy’s eyes glaze over with terror. Sheriff Bill ruminates, Buddy steadies his trembling legs. SHERIFF BILL Can’t let the rest of the townsfolk see this shit. BUDDY Whaddya reckon we do? Sheriff Bill grabs a bottle of liquor from a small table, takes a swig, then smashes it on the floor. SHERIFF BILL Burn it to the ground. Sheriff Bill chucks his cigar onto the corpses. An explosion of flames.
I heard it's #TwoPageTuesday -- so feast your eyes on the first two pages of DON'T BLINK -- a contained, squirm-inducing, eye-centric horror 👀

TIME TRAVEL FOR BEGINNERS Every crumb of starlight sails across the universe, the journey of a million years to end inside our eyes. Except I was looking at you, canvas coverall cinched at the waist, as you undressed me with photons, wrapped me in stories, painted with x-rays, until everything glowed with backstory-the names of trees, the name of an extinguished star, still visible, ghost in the sky, climbing a staircase of optic nerve into an afterlife of sight. Hand on my hand you pointed to the past: the sun, an 8-minute time machine, the moon, one second old, and the incredible now, unfolding like a cone, megaphone of memory stretched to the sky and balanced on the tip was us, a luminous shout of life at the speed of light.
In a blink, this moment reaches the moon. When we pack up the hammock, it floats in the acid clouds of Venus. Which means that somewhere, there is a spot, past the gaps in Saturn's rings, beyond the storms of Jupiter, outside the curved embrace of the Milky Way, at least one place in the universe, where you could turn around and see us, back when we were still in love.

I should be working on polishing scripts/pitches for tomorrow, but instead I'm just going to waste time on all the drama of a ficticious small town where one day airplanes all crash out of the sky ✈️

My current WIP titled "Adair". it's a TV pilot for native family crime drama set in rural Oklahoma.
INT. GYM - DAY Rachel's feet THUMP on the treadmill belt. Sweat pours down her face and neck, drenches her clothes. 4.97... 4.98... 4.99...5.0 MILES on the display. Rachel hits the button and the belt slows to walking pace. She towels off, hits the STOP button. The gym is empty. She checks her phone, a message from Amund. AMUND (TEXT) Everything okay? She smiles as she types her reply. RAChel (TEXT) Yes. Feel much better. Heading back. She tosses the towel aside, heads to the locker room. INT. OFFICE - DAY Quinn types away at his computer when his desk phone rings. He lets it ring a few times before begrudgingly picking up. OFFICER QUINN Quinn speaking. DARLA (O.S.) Hey, it's Darla. I got your car, but not your man. Quinn sits up. DARLA (O.S.) Vehicle was spotted outside the I-90 interchange. Suspect driving was a twenty-four-year-old white male, Justin Herbert. He's got a few possession charges under his belt, but get this: claims some guy gave him the car and paid him to drive it as far north as he could. OFFICER QUINN Shit... thanks, Darla. I've got to go.
He hangs up and dials in a panic. EXT. PARKING LOT - DAY The crunch of a disposable water bottle as Rachel drinks. She pushes through the gym doors into the morning sunshine, downs half the bottle as she crosses the parking lot. Her car is parked under the trees for shade, the police cruiser on the opposite side of the lot near a dumpster. She pulls the bottle away and wipes her mouth, reaches into her purse for the keys when someone yanks her backward. Her bottle skitters to the ground, glug-glugging onto the pavement as NICK (40s) wraps his arm around her neck. BZZZZZ. BZZZZZ. Her phone vibrates in her purse. NICK Thought you were so fucking smart, didn't you? Rachel's feet kick hard. Her nails dig into Nick's forearm, tries to pry herself free. He tightens his stranglehold as Rachel struggles, her windpipe caught in the crook of his muscular arm. INT. POliCE CRUISER POV through the officer's window, Nick silently drags Rachel into the trees. The crackle of radio chatter fills the interior. The officer's blood slowly drips onto the center console from the deep gash in his neck. EXT. WOODED AREA Rachel's feet kick at the weeds and garbage caught in the small wooden area next to the gym parking lot. Safely out of sight from prying eyes.
