A beautiful goldfinch commission for a BlueSky customer. Loved doing this one. Not least cos it was dad’s fave bird and felt like a gift from the beyond for me as well as the client - and made a new friend in the process :)

Incidentally, a cormorant made me want to paint here. I’d had a traumatic dentist appt where the anaesthetic failed. I called my bonus Mum and wailed down the phone - but a cormorant caught a fish and pulled me out of it! And I thought. Isn’t this lovely… so #unsoliciteddockpix wuz born #birds 🪶
