The butterfly is black. but with orange bands curving down the middle of each wing and along the bottom. Along the bottom there are dark spots spaced evenly through the orange. It has a number of white spots toward the outer edge of each wing and there is a line of white along the outer edge of the wings.

Deze atalanta zat aan de andere kant van het raam op de buitenmuur van de trappenhal. This red admiral was sitting on the other side of the window on the outside wall of the stairwell.

Ik moest ervoor uit het raam hangen, maar we zien hier op 3 hoog weinig vlinders. Atalanta's, dus.
