Looking up from inside the honeycomb structure, Vessel when it opened in March 2019.
The concept was that the warmth of the copper mimics a beating heart which contrasts the shimmering blues and silvers of nearby skyscrapers. The actions and movements taking place above and below every layer of the 150 foot-tall Vessel are mirrored with the purpose to make the experience more interactive for the people.
Per https://www.re-thinkingthefuture.com/architectural-facts/vessel-10-things-you-did-not-know-about-vessel-new-york/ it has:
154 interconnecting flights of stairs. These stairs collectively have almost 2,500 individual steps and 80 landings. The designers made these staircases of bronzed steel and concrete and have an interlaced structure that offers a remarkable view of New York City, and the river through its vertical climb.
A diameter of 50 feet at its base, which extends to 150 feet (~46-meter) at its 6-story peak as it grows vertically.
16 stories high

I included a link to suicide hotlines because many know it was closed for years after four people committed suicide from it (it is open again with new safety measures).

also looking up from within, this is in the center so you see the sky in a circle with the top of the elevator on the left and the tops of three building that surround the Vessel

I had left NYC by the time this was built but always wanted to see it..
The #vesselnyc viewpoint by Thomas Heatherwick is expected to reopen in #NYC #chelsea this year, shrouded by steel netting to prevent people from jumping from its platforms.
