The user selected a model that is assigned to purple Layer `3`. The layer colour is visible on the current layer, the AABB (axis-aligned bounding box) in the `3D Viewer`, and next to the model in the explorer.

At the bottom of the World Explorer window you can see the `Layer` field for the current model where the user can assign a layer to the model. 

Note: this multi-model was imported from MagicaVoxel .vox and therefore uses the layer colours that were set in MagicaVoxel.
