He has seen a variety of cutlery-themed names over the last months — HundretsSpoons, Forky, Sporks, SingleChopstick — it is always funny when he comes up with a new one. It never got boring to talk to him. It is quiet for a while, as none of them writes anything. Nai wonders what Punisher is up to. Did he just sit at his computer, watching Nai’s character bake his 200th loaf of bread while his own avatar lies on the sofa? Like this, it is hard to concentrate on his book, and Nai catches himself throwing glance after glance at his screen so as not to miss a message from Punisher.

Screenshot of a work in progress fanfiction: Nicholas stared at himself in the mirror. He looked like he always did — washed out blue jeans, a black tee with the sleeves cut off, and his leather jacket on top. The design is slowly coming along; he recently added a new patch with the Deep Cuts lettering stitched in white on black. After some deliberation, he grabbed a chain with a cross pendant and a few leather bracelets to complete his look. His chin was covered in stubble — maybe he should have shaved after all? His bangs were also falling into his eyes; he should probably ask Elendira if she could cut his hair again. But somehow the wild look had something. And actually, he didn't want to look like he had put a lot of thought into his appearance. It was Knives he was meeting, for crying out loud. They saw each other almost every day. He knew what he looked like — even on the really bad days with open wounds or a broken bone. But today it wasn't Knives, it was Nai. And even though he wanted to look cool and calm, he wasn't at all right now. A week ago, after the shit with the stolen van, Nick had decided he would take Nai out. On a real date.
