Here in Melbourne it’s become waring (wombat) season. Cool nights, a bit more rain, fungi popping up… #wurundjeri

View along a city lane lined on both sides by 19th century brick buildings of 3-4 storeys. A modern skyscraper looms above, its pale walls and blue-tinted windows contrasting with the reds, greys and browns of the laneway. At the end of the alley, a brick wall has been painted with a mural of the Eiffel Tower in dark pink or red on a light pink background. Photo by me.

Looking east over a dry creek bed, with gum trees overhead. The pre dusk sky is mostly blue but there are a few cumulo-nimbus clouds over the hills.

Fortunate to attend a tour of Will-im-mee mooring (Mt William greenstone quarry near Lancefield). A hugely important site re pre-colonisation Indigenous trade. Rumoured that a single axe-head blank could be traded for 2 full length possum skin cloaks! Great educational experience! #Wurundjeri

Took a grieving friend to Masons Falls at Kinglake this morning. Not sure nature actually helped much. Well, I guess it didn’t hurt. #KinglakeNationalPark #Wurundjeri #Taungurung

Spent a morning at the #Birrarung today on #Wurundjeri country with great #FirstNations guide Tully Gibbons. The river was up and the commentary was generous and extended with great warmth and kindness at the #AbbortsfordConvent -always think of those ripped from family at places like this.

Lining the inside of a glass wall, Moroccan-style lanterns of stained glass hang from chains of different lengths, creating a multicoloured cascade of light. Peering into a craft studio in Flinders Lane. It’s on a corner, and the full-height windows on both sides are festooned with lanterns, glowing gloriously in the night.

A refurbished sign along with traces of some ghost signs spotted in Seddon, Victoria, AU.

The building is currently being used as a Gather Women Space.

Fascinating coda as the credits roll. I’ll have to dig on what that means.
