Kudos to all the #YVRbike people. I hate riding in the rain!
Help us as we prototype a new bike-mounted device to reduce close-passes from drivers!

A map with the full route, including the proposed bridge, marked. It begins in South Surrey and travels around Boundary Bay to Tsawwassen.
This proposed bridge would involve about 1.3 km of new trail (incl. the bridge itself) and create a continuous cycleway that is about 26 km long.
This would be primarily on dedicated bike paths with minor sections of rural roads with very little traffic.

A map showing the described routes. The current route, marked in red, goes along King George Blvd from South Surrey to Colebrook Road then south to the parking area at Mud Bay. My proposed route, marked in orange, travels from the northern end of the Semiahmoo Trail along Nicomekl Rd which becomes 40 Ave to the end of the road, then north on a new bridge across the Serpentine River estuary adjacent to the existing railroad bridge to Mud Bay Park.
My #YVRbike wish is to have a pedestrian/bike bridge built adjacent to the railroad to connect the Semiahmoo Trail in South Surrey to the Boundary Bay Cycleway via 40 Ave (orange).
The current route is to travel along King George Blvd and Colebrook Road (red) mainly on #bike lanes.

It’s time 🇨🇦 English language adopt the word Fietser!
The word Cyclist is too deeply entrenched in sport and spandex. It’s holding 🇨🇦 back.
