microsoft tries to make various IT industries reliant on its proprietary technologies to try to choke out competition. when this doesn't work, microsoft buys a competitor it perceives as a threat to its intended dominance, squeezes the life out of it and takes its technologies for itself

weather update: repair guy got it working by unseating the cpu but doing that triggered the shitty windows 11 encryption and locked him out of my computer so we had to figure out how to get into my microsoft account over the phone. he has no idea what caused the problem either, so that’s cool
