as it becomes clear that Yes has won in VA and gerrymandering will pass, a message to Republican voters:
you brought this on yourselves
you convinced the most fairness-obsessed, That Wouldn’t Be Fair-minded voters in the country to affirmatively vote to put you in the dumpster
you earned this

NBC projects that YES will win in Virginia.
We’ve now reached the part of the referendum where everyone lines up, mutters “goodgamegoodgamegoodgamegoodgame“ a bunch of times with a series of low fives - the winning Yes side slightly more enthusiastic about it- and then they bring out baggies of oranges and Capri Suns for the campaign workers.
Outstanding vote should be very good for Yes
It's all early vote, even in the places No is leading
Virginia votes #YES, says no to Trump.
All of us who demonstrated and organized for this were more important than in last fall’s gubernatorial elections. If not for *us*, YES would have lost. It’s a victory worthy of bloodthirsty exultation. Sometimes the narrower the win—contra the DNC—the MORE it should whet our appetite for power…\1
Screenshot of Zachary Donnini's tweet saying that YES will win by 4-4.5 percentage points
From Zachary Donnini: “YES is currently on track to win by roughly 4–4.5...Accounting for provisional and late-arriving mail ballots, which are expected to modestly favor YES, the final margin is likely to increase by approximately 0.4 points after Election Night.” bluevirginia.us/2026/04/live...
Hey. Everyone. Don't stress out looking at the NYT margins. This is over, Yes will win in Virginia. There are 275,000 votes left to count just in Fairfax, which will be 70-30 yes. There are also 100,000 votes between Richmond and Henrico, which will be very blue but not as blue. This is done.
One other good thing about YES winning is that Peter Thiel just set a pile of money in fire for nothing.
Save the results of this Virginia election for the future when someone says their vote doesn't matter. This was close. But Yes prevailed, thankfully.

With 2,013 of 2,534 precincts reporting, it’s now YES with a lead of 50.2%-49.8% – and tons more deep-blue Fairfax to come (plus a bunch more of deep-blue Henrico and Richmond). So obviously, this is looking great for YES! 🙂 bluevirginia.us/2026/04/live...
I like it more when Republicans lead for a bit before Fairfax and Richmond come in. It’s cute
We love our Fairfax voters, don’t we folks!
YES is slightly behind right now (by a 1.3 point margin), but the blue areas left to report (Fairfax, Richmond, and some Norfolk) should outweigh the red areas left and push YES over the top

As a friendly reminder - and this one is actually friendly - Texas started all this. #Virginia #YES #10to1
Fairfax dropped the hammer and “yes” is a certainty now. Congratulations, Virginia!
If Republicans want to continue to gerrymander, we’ll show them why that’s a tremendously bad idea.
THANK YOU, VIRGINIANS! Looking at you dear Fairfax.
We did it!! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

And there it is, with nearly all red counties reported, Fairfax is now reporting: Yes will win.
Watching the live count and the cackle I let out as Yes went from down a few thousand votes to cresting past 50%
Fairfax puts Yes over the top!
Guess all the No signs in median strips in Fairfax and Falls Church didn't help
