Sadly yes :( was hoping for it to show up again whilst in the area but no luck! Was hoping for the super slam of WB diver, the Lapwing and Ross’s Gull but the curse continues
Still happy to have caught up with the Yank pipit though
American Buff-bellied Pipit ✅
Not the red letter day we was hoping for in Northumberland but this bird sure made up for it, showed incredibly well at the beautiful Ross Bank Sand.
Also another bonus lifer bogey bird Grey Plover ✅ also tried for the Black scoter with no luck #ukbirding #bird 🪶
Started 2025 the way I mean to go on! With a lifer, Red-necked Grebe✅ at leeshaw reservoir.
Braved the atrocious weather but ended up seing the bird really well, challenging to get any digiscope footage though.
Nice chatting to the other birders there.
Great start to 2025

I love mine! Captured so many record shots when birds are just too far for a DSLR
Going to have to try again! It’s becoming my bogey bird, missed one two years ago too
Mega Dip day for me today, 7 hours and 400 miles! Spend 6 hours for the Grey-headed Lapwing at East Chevington with no luck, it was in the ploughed field but only showed itself for 10 seconds in flight whilst I was there 😭 then tried for the Surf Scoter at Druridge bay but again no luck #ukbirding

All the hype around the Scarlet Tanager (which I’m hopefully going to catch up with) made me think of my trip to Ecuador where I saw over 35 species of Tanager, my favourite being Flame-faced and Blue-necked which are stunning. Here’s a blue-and-yellow I managed to photograph! #scarlettanager #bird
