I've come up with a solution to my problem of opening up too many tabs:

Whenever I find I have too many tabs open, I just open a new window.

Now I have too many windows open, but that's a problem for another day.

I once had a bug in my shipping system that would sometimes send parcels meant for Virginia to the Vatican.

I hope The Pope enjoyed the purple circuit boards.

Took a break from #gamedev the last few weeks to get a hardware idea out of my head. These electronic flowers can be placed into a vase that has voltage wired into two layers that make contact with copper on the stems. #steam #electronics #techart #arduino Thank you to @oshpark.bsky.social

Your friendly reminder that "pkill -9 -v pattern" does not mean "verbose kill processes named this", no matter how much you want it to.

I’m excited to announce that due to popular demand, we will release the full animatic of Flow aka Float aka the Crazy Frog Edition. Instead of using storyboards, all the scenes are designed directly in 3D. Everything was made in Blender and rendered in EEVEE.

Maurice Hilleman - Wikipedia

I love that the guy who developed the measles vaccine cussed like a trooper, and his bosses tried to make him go to "charm school". He created something like 40 vaccines that save millions of lives each year, but hardly anyone recognizes his name.

We’ve got a new paper out today about hummingbirds and game theory. One of my co-authors, @kevinzollman.com, has written a very nice explainer thread here. 🪶

I cannot believe how common the "curl $URL | bash" installation pattern is.

..But maybe it's better to be so explicitly bad. I don't think many people understand the amount of trust you're putting into some random person when you "npm install" their package.

Modern-Day Oracles or Bullshit Machines?

Jevin West (@jevinwest.bsky.social) and I have spent the last eight months developing the course on large language models (LLMs) that we think every college freshman needs to take.

I'm convinced crow gifts are 90% "I was carrying around this neat thing I found, but decided I wanted more room to carry food."

I think a torus mesh with "Minor Segments" set to 4 would also work.
Took a torus, moved it's origin to its outside edge, added an empty at the same point, rotated the empty 120 degrees, and used an array modifier to place three of them at the correct angles. Edit the mesh to remove unneeded faces.

I didn't realize that bsky puts you into whichever feed tab you were last reading when you come back to the site.

I was like "Boy, sure is a lot of awesome crow content today."

Lab On The Cheap! Cheap solutions to scientific problems. Bringing research grade scientific equipment to everyone from penny-pinching research laboratories to school teachers.

Lab on the Cheap (www.labonthecheap.com) looks like an amazing resource, but no updates since 2021. I periodically run across great journal articles, but is there a place where articles on DIY cheap lab equipment are gathered?
