Nainen ei ole koskaan sama, ja on siksi biotietieteille hankala tutkimuskohde Kaikki ihmiset eivät tunnetusti ole miehiä, mutta lääketieteellistä ja lääketutkimusta on tehty pitkälti heillä. Tulosten on oletettu pätevän myös naisiin, vaikka näin ei välttämättä ole.

Lääketieteessä ja lääkekehityksessä tutkimus on painottunut miehiin. Mutta onko niin, että miesbiologiasta kumpuavat tutkimustulokset ovat suoraan sovellettavissa naisiin? Mm. tätä pohdittiin InFLAMESin Sex and Immunity-teeman Corporate Corner -seminaarissa.
