They have excellent resources to learn many languages, too. This thread lists the other languages and some resources for Spanish.
And they include grammar, vocabulary, videos for "ear training", cultural aspects of the languages, etc. Really impressive.

A decade later, I still think this is the best video on whether or not to italicize words in non-English languages when writing in English. www.youtube.com/watch?v=24gC...
One of the hardest things about being disabled is how often people judge that as laziness or you not caring
Yellow flowers by a pond and lots of green vegetation.
Yellow rattle by our tiny pond. But a much bigger pond is on its way and it's possible I'm just a bit excited. 🥳

Embroidery hoop, amongst a wedding table centrepiece arrangement, featuring a green line drawing and text of a Great Skua.
I haven't shared any #embroidery for a while, because I was busy creating some for my wedding!
Each hoop is a table name, and each is based on a holiday and an animal we saw (and photographed) on that holiday. The majority are, of course, #butterflies or #moths.
Laura, a white woman with cropped auburn hair and wearing a denim jacket and dinosaur-patterned dress stands in a garden smiling at the camera and holding a book with a grey cover, featuring a raven and the text ‘Awakened, Laura Elliott’
had to do a little photoshoot with a finished copy!!!! 🐦⬛

my new favourite story
"Changes in this pressure, such as when a storm approaches or recedes, can have noticeable effects including what can feel like bone crushing fatigue and disorientation for some."

A book cover with a creepy raven with a blue eye bearing the Tower of London on its back. The book is Awakened by Laura Elliott and there are white lines leading to text around it that read: a life without sleep, Greek mythology, end of the world, what makes us human, medical abuse, isolation vs community, love and obsession, and societal and medical disability ☺️
is it too late to hijack World Goth Day and say that if you want an existential horror about humanity and monstrosity that will fill you with quiet dread - i have a book for you?!?!?!

Sucks to be the other 2.95 million disabled people, eh?
A photo of a golden roan working cocker-spaniel on a green carpet by a fire grate.
Ollie heroically taking on the role of "dog in pub."
I just spent a truly ridiculous amount of time finding fragrance free hypoallergenic sunscreen that my ridiculous immune system will accept
So here's some brands that my body seems to tolerate for the #MCAS crowd
(With fair warning ofc that mast cell triggers vary A Lot between people)

If you've never had the pleasure of doing a boudoir shoot... I HIGHLY recommend it! I did hair & makeup for a boudoir photographer in Tahlequah. 'Twas a highlighted moment of my life. ✨💛
If you’re struggling right now, please know you’re not alone.
Many of us are isolated due to chronic illness, disability and/or the general messiness of the world.
But we’re not alone. There’s someone somewhere struggling with the same loneliness, and I like to think we’re all separately together

My #ShamelessPromo for #SpoonieAuthChat is made up of three books, which means 50 disabled creatives! Nothing Without Us has 22 stories, Nothing Without Us has 27 stories, and then there’s lil’ ol’ me, the author of the disability-hopepunk adventure, Season One: Iris and the Crew Tear Through Space!
Swilua and I are basically the same person but like different sides of the coin
Two images, almost abstract, of the detail of water moving slowly over a large rock in a riverbed.
30th of May sees the closing of submission dates for the @dartmoorcollective.org call for submission on the subject of "Flow". The 16th of June sees the closing of the Royal Academy West of England's Open Call
I think these details of slow water in a #Dartmoor river will be my efforts

A posy of peonies in a field of pick-your-own flowers
I’ve brought elder daughter to a pick-your-own peonies field. Serious botanic dopamine…🌿
A vibrant rainbow arcs across a dark, cloudy sky above a lush green hillside. The sun illuminates part of the landscape, creating a strong contrast between the bright foreground and the stormy background. A line of rocks and a few sparse trees sit atop the hill near where the rainbow touches the ground.

Mites use #bumblebees as taxis clinging to them to hitch a ride into the nest where they feed on pollen/wax/detritus - not the bees!
Most mite species that hang with bumblebees are generally fairly harmless to the #bees.
