I'm taking a sabbatical, skipping all the bizzy things related to art making and just making the art. Website still up and running. Best wishes, Bluesky pals! See you in 2027!

Protestor with 2 signs: No Faux-King Way and Real Americans Don't Bow to Tyrants
More protestors at the rally in Port Townsend. Two dressed as bananas with the sign "It's a slippery slope to a Banana Republic" and one as a gorilla with "Not my Silverback."

Almost ready for the studio tour tomorrow. Last year I had so many lovely conversations with visitors, and I loved watching folks explore the garden. Looking forward to sharing this special place again. @rawartcollective.bsky.social

A grumpy-looking bat on a wooden picnic table.
When you open up your picnic-table umbrella after a week and accidentally dislodge a surprise tenant. In her own time she flew off, presumably for a darker, cozier spot.
A linocut of a wooded island and it's reflection in the water
As I get ready for our upcoming Studio Tour, I'm looking through some older prints and reflecting on my printmaking practice. I made "Woods of the Lake" to work out how to create mist and a water reflection in a print.

Grabbed my spitsticker and my scorper - engraving tools have the best names - and refined my bufflehead block. It printed up quite nicely on a variety of papers.

Can't decide if the inside image should be a giant flower or something unrelated like an iPad. Funny how the mind must make connections, like "taking nature breaks from screens." The mind is a funny thing. And that, my friends, is your profound thought for the day. Now back to staring at my naval.

Hello friend. Happy to share the trail with you.

A wood engraving of a male bufflehead swimming in the sea near a wooded land
Very happy with my first wood engraving ever. Plenty of room for improvement, but I love the fine lines you can achieve. Thanks to our fantastic teacher Angie Lewin, @edinburghprints.bsky.social , and all my wonderful classmates!

Thanks, Pam. It's a lovely charm!
A collagraph print of a Black-capped Chickadee perched on a branch
A collagraph print of a Pacific Chorus Frog
Had such a great time learning collagraphy from Jenny McCabe at Rheged in the Lake District. I love the painterly effect you get with the technique.

Happy to be participating again in our local artist studio tour. Come visit!
Another fantastic print! Looking forward to more updates.
I wish I could join the protests today, but I'm in Scotland. I'm with you all in spirit.

Love the color palette and the texture you've achieved in places.
A box of 6 Tunnock's tea cakes.
A mural of a woman wearing a Tunnock's tea cakes brassiere while playing a guitar, and a personified Irn-Bru is hanging on her shoulder.
Where have these tea cakes been all my life? ๐คค
A mural on a 4-story building of a giant woman kneeling down with a magnifying glass in one hand and the other poised to pick up something "small."
A mural of a giant squirrel looking at the viewer.
A mural of two girls blowing bubbles.
Glasgow, you've got some mighty fine murals.
That is a gorgeous linocut collage!
Sorry to hear this. Hope you keep at it because your prints are unique and awesome.
This Hairy Woodpecker seems to appreciate the snag we made of a Doug Fir in our yard.

Love this!
A linocut print of a dramatic sword fern posing in front of her best friend, a lichen-covered tree.
I know what you mean. In many ways, this feels like a self-portrait.
A large Pacific Trees Frog with green leaves, white flowers, and eyes you can get lost in.
Possibly the sexiest Pacific Tree Frog I've ever encountered.
QRP something green.

Hanging on a tan wall are three framed linocuts of birds often seen together in Alder trees: a Black-capped Chickadee, a Chestnut-backed Chickadee, and a Golden-crowned Kinglet.
The Alder Gang is in the house. If you're interested in the prints or their accompanying greeting cards, go ๐๐ผ www.thimbleberrystudios.com

A black-and-white woodcut self-portrait of the artist. Her hair is both hiding her and flowering.
I thought I'd share one of my first woodcuts from 1990. I was a shade-loving plant even back then. It's my submission for this week's #portrait prompt with #printpromptmonday .

Awesome!
These are fantastic!
