It seems the #GenHour feed on my phone isn’t refreshing either… I’ll look forward to seeing everyone’s posts at some point, but I’m currently missing posts from people I don’t follow & my notifications are glitchy!

I think it’s an Apple feature. I’ve not noticed it before in images I’ve added to BlueSky posts, but I’ve used it on my iPhone to search text in images stored on my phone #GenHour

A book called ‘BRITAIN IN OLD PHOTOGRAPHS BRIERLEY HILL’ by STAN HILL

I’m reviewing & extending my research into one of my brick wall ancestors ready for a trip up north in a couple of weeks. My quick & dirty #StreetStudies have been a huge success, & have really given me a flavour of life in those streets in the 1860s & 1870s when my ancestors live there #GenHour

This doesn’t bode well for our BlueSky chat… On the plus side, I’ve discovered an alt text feature I probably should’ve known about but didn’t. If you tap this button - the “Scan Text” (Live Text) icon - it’ll copy any text in the image ready to paste into the alt text box

Hope everyone’s week is going well. I’m SO excited about the Guild of #OneNameStudies conference next weekend! I’ve ticked off most of the things on my to-do list (I’m helping organise it) & I’ve been planning my poster. I’ve got part of it written but need to add some info on migration #GenHour

No3 St. Mary’s School Photo – Can you Identify the Children, Teacher and Year Taken? This is the third in a series of Batley St. Mary of the Angels school photos that I will be sharing over the next few weeks, possibly months, in the hope people might recognise themselves or family…

In my #OnePlaceWednesday news I’ve been given an amazing bundle of old Batley St Mary’s school photos for my #OnePlaceStudy. I’m in the process of sharing them to try to put names to faces. It’s probably going to take several months to post them all, but 3 done so far

Great Ellingham One-Place Study.
Image: Photo looking along a village street on a sunny, blue-skied day. On the left is a two-storey, four-bay cottage with white walls and a tiled roof, with further cottages and their gardens further along that side of the street. On the right, part of another building with white walls can be seen in the foreground, with the spire-topped tower of the village church a little further long the street, partially hidden by a couple of trees.

Sounds like you had a very productive day! I haven’t looked at any MH 12 records yet (been concentrating on agricultural records recently) but I have a few for Plomesgate (which covers #Sudbourne) on my list to look next time I go. Last time I took 1056 images of documents 🫣

I’ve also come up with a way to demonstrate that my #OneNameStudy is indeed worldwide! I think my study will owe more to scrapbooking than academic study but hopefully it will be acceptable 🫣🤞🏻
