The subjects of #OnePlaceStudies range from an individual dwelling – #HouseHistory – or studies of institutions (such as schools), to whole villages, parishes or even towns, and anything in between – including #StreetStudies. A medieval #StreetStudy sounds amazing!

It’s always nice when a past post gets a second spell in the spotlight, and Shall-I-go-naked-street has certainly enjoyed some excellent, um, exposure. If silly and/or smutty names are right up your street, check out the replies and quote-posts. Some potential #StreetStudies / #OnePlaceStudies here?
Flagging up for those carrying out #StreetStudies or wider #OnePlaceStudies, and #FamilyHistory / #LocalHistory folk who might be interested! #GenHour
#OnePlaceWednesday. Image: Photo of the view across a narrow lake. In the foreground there is grass, with reeds at the water's edge. On the opposite shore are more reeds, and three large Oak trees standing at the bottom of a grassy field that occupies the sloping ground rising beyond the water. At the top of the slope, just visible on the left, is part of Fawsley Hall, and on the right, Fawsley St Mary's church with its tower. There are trees in the wide gap between those buildings. Above, a few fluffy clouds and a couple of contrails adorn a blue sky, the colour of which is reflected in the water of the lake. One-Place Studies, where family history and local history unite.
A photo taken on this day 3 years ago in my local #OnePlaceStudy to kick off this week's #OnePlaceWednesday! Add the hashtag to your OPS-related posts today and share the love of places, their communities and their histories, along with your news, views, questions and suggestions.
#StreetStudies are a great way to give larger settlements the OPS treatment. It would be brilliant to see more of them – and to see some of them (and village/parish-based #OnePlaceStudies) begin to meet up at the edges as it were! #OnePlaceWednesday
I’d love more people to do #StreetStudies in #Southsea & #Portsmouth. Next year is Portsmouth’s centenary of becoming a city, & I think that would be a lovely way to celebrate! #OnePlaceWednesday

#OnePlaceWednesday. Image: Photo of some parkland (sheep pasture with lots of trees) at Fawsley in Northamptonshire on a misty morning in early Summer. Colours are muted, the overall tone is golden brown, and shafts of sunlight cut through gaps between the trees and light up the mist. The shapes of a few sheep can be seen in the bottom left corner of the scene. One-Place Studies, where family history and local history unite.

Can Lane, Sedgley One-Place Study Image: Extract from a large scale Ordnance Survey map showing what was then known as Hurst Hill Road, running East-West across the map. On the North side of the road, beyond the roadside houses (and other buildings, including a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel) are open fields dotted with shafts and disused shafts. On the South of the road, at its Western end, two other roads run Southward with houses alongside them forming Hurst Hill. East of Hurst Hill are more open fields, a couple of shafts, and two brick works. One-Place Studies, where family history and local history unite.
The number of #StreetStudies registered with us by our members has been boosted by Steve Cussons, who is conducting a #OnePlaceStudy of Can Lane (now Hurst Road, and in between, as shown on this map, Hurst Hill Road), Sedgley, Staffordshire.
