A high-contrast, black-and-white close-up of a Pacific Black Duck looking directly up but an eye focused toward the camera. The duck’s beak is slightly open, and several crystalline water droplets are frozen in mid-air just beneath its chin, falling from its beak. The background is softly blurred, emphasising the intricate patterns of the duck’s dark, scalloped plumage and the distinct light stripes on its face. A few blades of grass are at the bottom right partially covering the ducks body.
We had a surprise visit from a juvenile Pacific Black Duck yesterday, so I gave him some water and he loved it! 🦆💦 He didn’t fly in today, so I'm hoping he's found his way home safely. 🙏🏡
