Nobody was mummified and Brendan Fraser should have had a cameo. 😅 Couple of awkward plot holes, 20 minutes too long, but overall fun, silly, and entertaining. Couple of unintentional laughs, one or two fully intentional laughs, and some cringe-inducing gore. 6/10 #themummy #100FilmsIn2026

No, not for me. Not scary, not particularly engaging, and felt like a stretched out short film. Christian imagery is the least spooky thing in horror. Not tHe WOrSt FiLM eVeR mADe, but did nothing for me. Was hoping for a lot more from the sound design. 4/10

Hard to know how much is embellished for film but, regardless, this was an easy and entertaining watch. Good lead performances, and just an all round decent time. 7/10

Spent half an hour going, "Is that the bloke from the Range Rover advert?!" He's much better in this! 😍 Went in blind, and really enjoyed Fuze. Wasn't too tricky to unravel before the reveal, but still a lot of fun, right up to the end. 7/10

Pace slipping due to a weekend in Eindhoven. Hell of a party, but exhausting!
Great film to get going again. Painful to watch at times, but loved the two leads in this. A lot to read into as well, without bashing you over the head with it. 8/10

No work tomorrow so I’ve driven through to Boldon Tyne & Wear Cineworld for SPLITSVILLE.
I historically don’t get on so well with Dakota Johnson, but maybe this will be a turning point for us. #filmsky
I’m a couple of weeks ahead of myself for #100filmsin2026 - currently on 29, which I didn’t hit til mid April of 2025. But I’m down on my overall numbers - only at 42 for the year. I can’t bring myself to watch stuff at home for some reason.

Absolute blast. What Ready or Not 2 wishes it was. Knew what you were in for 10 minutes in, and didn't let up. Pure escapist nonsense, but in the best way. Hats off to Zazie Beetz. 👏 8/10

I’ve adulted for several hours today and as a reward, I’ve left work toooo early to watch HOPPERS. Looking at the crowd in this screening, I am absolutely not the only solo-riding adult who had this idea.
Born to be jobless, forced to pretend to work occasionally. #filmsky

What a great film! Thoroughly enjoyed this. Imaginative, visually appealing, grounded, and a surprising amount of heart given a main character was a rock. Great couple of cinema hours. 👏 9/10

Fairly entertaining at times, but mostly pretty pedestrian. 20 minutes too long, which didn't help. Not a bad film, with a few fun moments, but overall just kinda forgettable. 6/10

I’m at Odeon for the Scream Unseen, which I assume is THEY WILL KILL YOU. I said just days ago that I’m tiring of the whole eat-the-rich thing, but let’s see if this one gets us back on track. #filmsky

Nice enough film which wore its influences firmly on its sleeve. While certain aspects felt a little by the numbers, and not everything worked, there was far more to like than dislike. Didn't reach the heights it aimed for, but decent. 6/10

Cineworld Secret Screening. Hadn't even heard of this, but loved it. Messed up, felt genuinely grimy and uneasy throughout, but had me gripped. Anson Boon was fantastic. 8/10

I can barely move my legs but I’ve just about hobbled down to Odeon for PROJECT HAIL MARY. Haven’t read the book and have no what to expect, but it’s sold out and there’s a notably diverse audience in today!

Back at Cineworld for the awards season screening of TRAIN DREAMS. None of my cinemas showed this on release and watching new films on Netflix is for ppl with attention spans that are not that of an infant.

Perfectly pleasant and inoffensive, but one of those films where you've seen every single story beat countless times before. You knew where it was going within 5 minutes, and it wasn't particularly funny in how it did it. Some 'laughs' were pretty cringe. 4/10

Christian Bale and Jake Gyllenhaal in The Bride!

Heard bad things about The Bride! but I’d never miss a cinema date with Jakey G.
(BTW £4 for a Diet Coke with Limitless discount applied. I’d get a treble vodka in my Coke for that over the bridge at Jimmy Allen’s 😒) #filmsky

This was wild, and I loved it for it. Not every swing hit, but plenty did. There"s no great cinema if we're staying safe, MOR and predictable. Jessie Buckley was fantastic, and certain moments had me out of my seat. Not perfect, but some spectacle. 7/10

Trailer sold it as a wacky romp, but it was pretty slow going with no real laughs. Glen Powell is a very likable actor, but his character brought out no sympathy, or even fun anti-hero vibes. Just a nob. The 'sting' in the tail was also pretty blunt. 5/10 #HowToMakeAKilling #100FilmsIn2026

Slashers don't really do much for me, but there was one really funny kill in this. Pretty forgettable otherwise, although it was great to see such a busy cinema on a Thursday night, and the audience were getting into it. 5/10

After a productive morning, I’ve decided to rot at the cinema all afternoon.
Now seated at Cineworld (Tyne & Wear) for COLD STORAGE. Watching purely for Joe Keery, who I loved in the criminally under-seen SPREE.

Seen this kind of thing plenty, but pretty entertaining thanks to a fun cast. Could have done with shaving off 10 minutes, but didn't stretch out to 2 hours, like plenty of films!
