“Not farming regeneratively is utterly dangerous & shortsighted.”

Fertiliser & fuel shocks are exposing the insecure fragility of industrial #FoodSystems.

Low input farms that don't need chemical fertilisers are proving more resilient.

Why some European farmers are immune to the fertiliser crisis The Iran war has sent fertiliser prices soaring – but these farmers aren’t fazed.

Why are some farms weathering the fertiliser crisis better than others?

Because they don’t rely on it.

Regenerative & agroecological farming shows how to build resilience free of fossil fuels.

Amplifying Stories of Agroecology Practices and Principles (ASAPP) - Maramche ... This case study from the “Amplifying Stories of Agroecology Principles and Practices” (ASAPP) project series highlights Maramche Agroecological Village, in Annapurna Rural Municipality, Kaski District, which consists of 36 agricultural households eager to adopt agroecological principles for sustainable food production. This approach fosters environmental stewardship, food and nutrition security, and community resilience. The establishment of an agroecological model village is an intensive process that involves not only the members of the village and the project staff, but also all concerned stakeholders in the community, to collectively contribute to the sustainability of the applied approaches. All households in Maramche village are part of Shree Pragatisheel Agriculture Cooperative and Annapurna Community Seed Bank, fostering equal access to services and knowledge exchange. By adopting various agroecological technologies, the community aims to eliminate chemical fertilisers and pesticides. Mr. Indra Adhikari, an active member and progressive farmer, shares insights on their household practices that contribute to establishing a model village. He and his family of five demonstrate that combining indigenous knowledge with agroecological farming can create a viable and profitable self-sustaining ecosystem. Amplifying Stories of Agroecology Practices and Principles (ASAPP) is an initiative to spotlight practical applications of the 13 agroecological principles in different agricultural...

Food Tank Explains: Agroecology This article is part of Food Tank’s primer series, “Food Tank Explains.” Each installment unpacks the ideas, innovations, and challenges shaping today’s food and agriculture systems, offering clear insights into complex topics. Agroecology is an approach to agriculture that applies ecological and social principles to the design and management of food systems, from production through consumption. A transdisciplinary concept grounded in the recognition that food, health, natural resources, and economic security are interconnected challenges, agroecology manifests as a science, a set of practices, and a social movement. As a science, agroecology applies ecological concepts and principles to the design and management of sustainable food systems. This dimension draws on ecology to understand how relationships among plants, animals, soils, and people shape agricultural outcomes across landscapes. As a set of practices, agroecology seeks to improve agricultural systems by working with natural processes rather than replacing them with external inputs. Agroecological practices emphasize beneficial biological interactions and synergies within agroecosystems, reduce reliance on synthetic and toxic inputs, and make use of ecological processes in farm management. As a social movement, agroecology aims to transform agriculture by building locally relevant food systems that strengthen the economic viability of rural areas. This dimension emphasizes...

Kick the chemicals out of farming. Rehydrate clean soil, farm regeneratively and begin to restore our water.

Take aggressive action. Tax agricultural chemicals, overuse of animal fertiliser, & junk food. Subsidise real food, give farmers support to make the change.

This is #agroecology – and it works.
