Küresel sağlık tehdidi: Acinetobacter baumannii bakterisine antibiyotikler bile fayda etmiyor! Bilim insanları, Malezya'da yapılan araştırmalar sonucunda antibiyotiklere karşı yüksek direnç gösteren "Acinetobacter baumannii" bakterisini tespit etti. Bu bakteri, küresel sağlık için büyük bir tehdit oluştururken, özellikle hastanelerde enfeksiyon riskini artıran “GC2” soyundan geldiği ve küresel ölçekte hızla yayıldığı ortaya çıktı. Antibiyotiklere Karşı Yüksek Direnç Gösteriyor 2011-2020 yılları arasında 126 bakteri örneği arasında yapılan incelemelerde, Acinetobacter baumannii bakterisinin birçok antibiyotiğe karşı direnç gösterdiği görüldü. Bu bakterinin özellikle “karbapenem” grubu antibiyotiklere karşı da direnç göstermesi endişe oluşturdu. Ayrıca bu örneklerin %97’sinde antibiyotik direncini yaymakla görevli "plazmid DNA”larında bulunması, bakterinin yayılma potansiyelinin ne kadar yüksek olduğunu gösteriyor. Küresel Bir Tehdit: Uluslararası İşbirliği Şart Dünya Sağlık Örgütü (DSÖ), Acinetobacter baumannii bakterisinin özellikle hastanelerde hızla yayıldığını belirterek, düşük ve orta gelirli ülkelerde de hastalığın yayılmasını önleme ve etkili tedavi yöntemlerinin geliştirilmesi için küresel iş birliğinin kritik olduğunu vurguluyor.
