A juvenile African Penguin looks up at me, wondering if I have any fish. This juvenile has just shed its baby feathers and started to develop adult feathers for the first time. At this stage, they are called "blues," hence the #BlueTue tag. This is not the world-famous Simon's Town, but Betty's Bay, a different, smaller penguin colony. We also saw rock hyraxes and cormorants.

The more blood flow to that area the pinker it gets. That blood flow helps release body heat for the penguin. So the less pink it is, the cooler they are. The brighter it gets the warmer they are.
