A close up, eye level shot of a Duranta erecta bush in full bloom. Clusters of small, vibrant purple flowers with delicate white borders hang in heavy bunches from thin green stems.

The sunlight is soft and natural, highlighting the velvety texture of the petals. The background is a soft, out of focus blend of bright green leaves and hints of golden yellow berries, creating a shallow depth of field that makes the purple blossoms stand out. A small watermark shaped like Australia is in the bottom right corner.

An Australian icon, the Eucalyptus. One of my absolute favourites. Even the gum nuts are beautiful.

The vibrant purple flowers of Tibouchina ‘Alstonville’. This small tree is hugely popular in Australia, especially for the burst of colour it adds to a dreary Autumn day. 💜

A horticultural tray filled with a variety of plants. Most are native to Australia. Some are taller and others are shorter. Some have pinnate leaves, others are serrated.

Accidentally bought a whole tray of plants without calculating the prices first. Oops. #plantaddict #australiangardens

Just as well. We have just done a first day of the year shoot, and there will be more coming. Worked on the bed previously known as Bed 1. Looking for names, we think we will call it Patagonia. There are two more, each half the size of this.

Striped spider in a vegetable garden.

Striped spider in a vegetable garden.

This fellow is guarding my tomato plants here in Sydney. 🙌 I’ve been trying to identify him with no luck. He wouldn’t let me get a shot from above. Any ideas?

A lizard is hiding on the branch, hoping no one sees him.

I found someone hiding in the garden this afternoon. Isn't he well disguised?
