A photo of Lobelia purpurascens in flower. The leaves are serrated oval shapes - green on the front and reddish purple on the back. The flowers are white (or less commonly, pale pink). They have 3 tear drop shaped petals pointing down and 2 small, sharp petals pointing up - almost like rabbit ears. The flowers have a small, bright yellow centre and each petal has a purple streak.
The pic also has the rounded leaves of Dichondra repens in the background.

A pic of another Australian native groundcover - Polymeria calycina. The leaves are dark green ovals. The flower is a bright pink trumpet that opens in full sun. Pic taken in light rain so the flowers are closing or furled tight.

Groundcovers not grass.
The result of digging out all the non-native buffalo.
No mowing and little flowers everywhere.

The pink feathery flower spikes of Ptilotus exaltatus ‘Joey’.

Spotted in my local nursery…Ptilotus exaltatus ‘Joey’, commonly known as Mulla Mulla. A striking Australian native that doesn’t live long but creates quite a show while it’s here!

I'm so happy to this year have a few bunches of Lilly Pilly fruit on my small shrub, on my little balcony in Sydney. Not quite enough yet to make jam though. ☺️

A closeup photograph of a Mountain devil (Lambertia formosa) inflorescence among its own foliage in its natural bushland habitat.

The small cluster of bright red and orange long, tubular flowers are surrounded by orange and yellow bracts. The leaves are dark green on top, pale light green and hairy underneath with a prominent midvein and downturned margins, and a tiny pointed apex or tip.

A closeup photograph of the inflorescence of a yellow drumsticks (Isopogon sp.) in its natural environment.

The tiny yellow flowers are arranged on a globular green structure which will mature to form a "cone" which resembles the ball of a wooden drumstick, giving the species its common name. The flowers mature from the bottom-up, with the lowermost flowers being open and the uppermost being tiny emerging buds.

A closeup photo of the pink inflorescenses of a Kunzea (Kunzea sp.) in its natural environment on a blurred background, emphasizing the shape and colour.

These strange flowers are related to the well-known bottlebrushes (Callistemon and Melaleuca genera) and tea trees (Leptospermum.) They have clusters of multiple elongated stamens which gives the flower much of its colour, surrounding a single pistil.

Remember this when you feel like giving up and ending it.

The intriguing and pretty little Stylidium graminifolium or Trigger plant, so called because it fires pollen at passing insects for pollination.

I scoured back and forth but couldn't find any friends for this yellow daisy. I'm pretty sure it is Senecio linearifolius.
I found one similar plant but couldn't confirm it.

Anyone amazingly good at plant ID? Supposedly this is a rare local grass, but my workmate didn't remember anything after that... Location, Blewitt Springs, sandy soil, open heath/ woodland, South Australia. No luck yet on iNat
