A Stout Cisticola perches on a slender bare bit of a green bush, facing left, with some kind of mantis in its beak. It has been raining; we can see water droplets on the greenery. This small bird with dark eyes has a russet forehead, crown, and nape, and a buff throat, chest, and tummy. Its wings and back are shades of dark brown, with the feathers edged in buff. Its tail is dark and a bit tatty.
A male Yellow Warbler is perched on a tree branch; it is facing to the left but looking directly into the camera. It has what might be a small beetle in its beak. The sunlight hits only the front curve of the bird's head, chest, and feet. Overall, the bird is bright yellow; it has rufous striping on its side, and its wings are greenish with some dark feathers bordered with yellow.
A Common Yellowthroat sits a distance away from the viewer on a broken branch, the sun behind and to its left. It is facing to the right of the photo; the thin trunk of the tree is to the bird's right, and further right, we see sunlit fluff, probably from cotton trees, captured in some small branches.
An Osprey is in flight above us, flying away, with the sun shining through its spread tail and its wings in an almost upside-down U.
