Why is the #battltech community obsessed with niche shit? I'm new to the game, and finding that everyone is obsessed with:

1) The Periphery
2) The Minnesota Tribe/Clan Wolverine
3) The Black Marauder
4) The Green Ghosts
5) The Amaris Civil War

Like I'm trying to learn the ACTUAL lore of the game..

A Goliath 'mech, four legs of absolute pain, photo taken by a shitty photographer (me). Its legs are the dark blue and central hull a dark green - the colors of Crashland's Wildriders. Its knees, canopy, and PPC cannon on top of the whole thing are a softer purple, nearing a lavender color. Its cannon (out of focus) and missile launchers on its shoulders are painted in a gunmetal gray.

So, behold, 30-some-odd years later, a dream is realized. One that I didn't even know existed. 10 year old me might not like the lavender-ish purple that Crash uses to identify himself, but ya know what? I'm not 10 year old me.

An unpainted an unprimed Stone Rhino mech from the game BattleTech with a red fluid splashed on the right arm weapon housing with a number 15 scalpel blade next to it.

Recently got the Battletech Battlefield Support Recon & Hunter Lances and Assault & Cavalry Lances box sets. Great detail on the minis. Very nice sculpts! Surprised the turrets move. Looking forward to painting these.

Finally I'm at a point of done! Well till I get a hand drill.. but! Look LAM is done and I did my first actual clan unit paint job, and would definitely say my skills have gotten much better.
