The image shows a Lime e-bike parked on a grassy patch with dandelions. The e-bike is predominantly white and green, featuring the "Lime" logo on its side and front. It has a green basket attached to the handlebars, inside which a green helmet is placed. The bike is parked on a sidewalk adjacent to a lawn with dandelions, and a blurred background suggests an urban or suburban setting. The lighting indicates it's either sunrise or sunset, casting long shadows and a warm glow. The photo is credited to Photography by Douglas Β©2025 @DarkWaterPhotoMedia. Lime is a company that operates shared electric vehicles, including e-bikes and e-scooters, in various cities. These vehicles are often used for short-distance travel and are available for rent through a mobile app.

The word "quiscula" comes from the specific name Gracula quiscula, which was coined by Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus in 1758 to describe the common grackle. As predators, Grackles help provide pest control services to the environment by consuming insects like mosquitoes, black flies, and ants. Their most substantial role in the ecosystem lies within their droppings. Grackles are in the Icteridae, or blackbird family, which includes orioles and cowbirds. Crows are corvids, more closely related to jays and magpies.

That sure does look like a lot of pee breaks. Mine just has the two bidons, extra nuun tablets in the bag. Refill as needed as I go. Straight water in one, electrolyte drink in the other.

Females are crisply streaked and dark brownish overall, paler on the breast and often show a whitish eyebrow. Red-wing blackbirds symbolize protection, good luck, and even prosperity.

Flesh fly on a seed head of a grass stalk. (we think it's wheat but not sure) image has a golden bokeh (lens blur in background) and good evening golden hour sunlight on the subject. I wouldn't chew grass stalks anymore these days, mostly because I know about pesticides. *shudders* !

Juveniles are mottled brown; second-year birds are brown but show gray on the back. Third-years have more gray on the back and more white on the head and underparts. The legs are dull pink at all ages. Herring Gulls patrol shorelines and open ocean, picking scraps off the surface.

It is related to the Painted Lady, the Red Admiral and the West Coast Lady. The front legs are very short and covered with little hairs or bristles, like that of a hairbrush. Because their front legs are so short, they sometimes look as though they only have four legs.

A green heron leaps headfirst off a log and into the water below to capture a fish for dinner. Afterwards he successfully swallowed the fish, then as two dragonflies passed he snapped out and snared them as well to chase the fish down. This particular little heron was quite very hungry that day and very active all afternoon.
