Over to Wentwood/Wentwood Res, then the Nedern, Caldicot Moor and back across the levels. Five scarce/Schedule 1 breeders but not much beyond that. #gwentbirding #birdingbybike #lowcarbonbirding

Up to Cwmcarn in the wind and rain: first two Mallard broods of the year, pair of Goosander, a few Blackcap, etc. #gwentbirding #birdingbybike #lowcarbonbirding #moist #breezy

Over to Caldicot then back into a headwind and driving rain. Few birds of note but there’s a reasonable amount of standing water on Caldicot Moor, might be worth scoping every now and then over the coming weeks. #gwentbirding #lowcarbonbirding #birdingbybike

Up the canal to Cwmcarn in the rain. Pair of Goosander, lots of Chiffchaff and the odd Blackcap were the sum of it. #moist #gwentbirding #birdingbybike #lowcarbonbirding

A moist couple of hours on the western levels: a few Sand Martin near the lower Ebbw and Chiffchaff all over the shop. #birdingbybike #speedbirding #lowcarbonbirding #gwentbirding

Was out on the bike yesterday and in a cafe in Stirling when I got a call about a Slavonian grebe on the river in Stirling. After quickly finishing my roll I was soon watching the bird with Ross the finder. An unusual record for this far up the Forth!

Now that made me screech to a halt. Really isn't often you get a Redshank actually on Bloors Wharf. Stoopid boid.

Today's 5.5m high tide meant a lot of waders able to hang on and roost close to cycleway #NCR1 alongide s. Medway, which was nice - pics taken from the saddle 😉

Other than the YBW which was still present this afternoon, I didn't manage to find much else of interest bird wise whilst out #birdingbybike. I was hoping to find some visiting geese or swans in one of the many nearby fields, but unfortunately nothing doing today. #lowcarbonbirding #ukbirding
