It's very early in the morning and still dark, and this is the view from a Birdhide. Some kind of Marten surprisingly shows up and is climbing on a dead tree trunk, looking straight into the camera.

Sometimes, when you have an early start in a #Birdhide while waiting for first light and the first #birds you get lucky and spot other #wildlife. I'm unsure what it is, perhaps a #EuropeanPineMarten or a more common #BeechMarten? I'm not sure, does anyone know? #BirdsinLatin #Birding

A colourful Mandarin Duck, photographed in the water from the side. Its beautiful colours really stand out against the dark water. Orange, gold, green, black, white, red and purple. His red-orange beak is open because he's calling out for company.
