You can clearly see the story picking up now the first arc is sort of behind us. There are a few things I’ve mixed feelings on like befriending the Shinju, then betraying them I did express. However, overall that sums up my live reaction to the chapter.

The panel of Kawaki in middle of choking Amado and saying; “…You’re gonna draw out all of my powers…” “…To their fullest extent.”

This chapter ends with Kawaki visiting Amado and choking him. It looks like Amado knew he’d drop by, but didn’t realise the brutality of this arrival. Yeah, this chapter was equally crazy like the former one. For different reasons.

Jura with the books in the background and two text boxes, The white one has written: WARNING! This man bites everyone, except books! The pink one has written: This is Jura. Save the world from him by giving him a free bookstore access and a library card to not anger him.

Boruto, I missed you. You look dashing! Ahem, moving on. He and Kashin Kojin have a conversation where it’s revealed Boruto joining the fight would result in his death. Boruto’s anxious about the situation and asks about his friends success rate for the mission.

We skip to Eida prettily sitting and looking into the situation in the Sand Village on the urging of the toad with her.

Poor Matsuri is so out of her depth and I’d feel heartbroken in her place. The plan is so brutal. I simply don’t know how to feel about Konohamaru betraying her knowing she had crush on him. It just comes down to the fact real Moegi is more important to him, I bet.

Poor Moegi too. I didn’t expect her to have a crush on Konohamaru, but if she does she was robbed of confessing them to Konohamaru herself because he knows about them indirectly through Shikamaru. Ouch. I’d not be happy in Moegi’s place if J woke up and learned it.

Shikamaru outright tells Konohamaru Matsuri has feelings for him and he’s shocked. WOW. Does that mean Moegi does too? Ouch. Using Matsuri feelings of love against her and even Konohamaru saying it’s a bit much. Poor girl. O have no words.

Ryu said he expected to slaughter any ninja he ran into. 😱 That’s scary!

I simultaneously feel bad for Shinju, but at the same time I want to see them defeated. It’s too hard on me seeing the main cast befriending them now. I can smell upcoming emotional pain.

Well, it seems like Sarada asked for Ryu to tag along with her and Mitsuki (I still hope she has a substantial conversation with him). They’re splitting Matsuri and Ryu up to probably take them off guard.

Matsuri’s confused about her feelings and why she has trouble with breathing. The girl has it bad. She’s blushing from Konohamaru asking about her well-being. For better or got worse.

I hope it gives those two (Sarada and Mitsuki) and opportunity to have a conversation without others around! That’s such a good set up to do so!

Mitsuki finds a metal piece Boruto uses for teleportation, Shinju are surprised, but the important part is Konohamaru saying they should split up and tells Sarada and Mitsuki to go together.

Team 7 and Shinju agree to join forces in tracking Boruto down. I’m sure Boruto’s already aware of it. That’s why his toad was sent to Suna in the first place.

I mean, we might not have a heartbreaking Shinju and One of the Shinobi heartbreaking friendship arc, but just think about the potential it could have!

Alright, that ends the flashback and Konohamaru introduces himself to Ryu and Matsuri. I think the story might lead to a heartbreaking friendship between one of the shinju and a shinobi that ends in tragedy. I should prepare tissues.

I’ve mixed feelings about this solution. I feel like betrayed Shinjus will snap and that can turn ugly pretty fast. At the same time, I want our beloved characters back!

Can we find a solution where Shinju can continue to live and bring humans back? No? Okay.

Basically, befriend Shinju and stab them in the back. This Shikamaru panel gave me chills. I know I shouldn’t, but I suddenly feel bad for Shinju that would be nice. It’s not their fault they exist because humans got trapped in trees!

Shikamaru basically wants Konohamaru to defeat Shinju with the power of friendship, I mean befriending them. That actually might work! Let’s not forget Jura’s man of culture already. I wonder what other Shinju like!

During discussing the mission details of how to defeat a Shinju,
Shikamaru explains he thinks shinju aren’t intrinsically evil. He has similar thoughts to mine that Shinju are new to experiencing human emotions in general.

Konohamaru asks how Shikamaru got this intel, then Shikamaru pulled a classic by saying the info’s classified. 😂

Well, he said the info was beyond Konohamaru’s clearance, but it’s basically the same thing. I imagine Shikamaru will pull it a lot in the future.

Anyway, they talk about how Shinju resurrect using their thorn bulbs/if their bulbs aren’t retrieved in a timely manner to help people being stuck in the trees. Konohamaru asks if Hidari’s alive and Shikamaru answers its likely.

After that we enter a mini flashback where Shikamaru tells Konohamaru to retrieve Shinju thorn bulbs.

Matsuri feeling off might mean as Shinju she didn’t experience the feeling of love or crushing on someone. That’s why she felt off. I assume Shinju human selves are familiar with emotions Shinju themselves aren’t.
