If you've ever witnessed a murmuration, it is truly breathtaking. The sound of the whoosh as they fly overhead, the breaking of formationg and then rejoining - just awe inspiring. This was at Netherfields Lagoon, lots of birds, but too cold when I visited to stay in the air - just straight over and down into the relative warmth of the reeds. Who would blame them - I'll just have to keep visiting ...
