The original name for RER A was "Métro Express Régional Défense-Étoile," abbreviated as"MERDE" ([poop]). It wasn't until the day before the launch that painters, while painting the MERDE logo on the trains,realized the problem and hastily changed it to RER. @ by the way, taking the commuter train can really squeeze out a [poop]. #friendsoffrance

A rather shabby DSB Class S.A. No. 8101 is sat at Platform 5 at Valby station on western edge of Copenhagen City, just about to depart on a Line B service to Høje Taastrup
