Den Langhaarigen Ginster-Blattrandrüssler (Sitona regensteinensis) findet ihr an Besenginster (Cytisus scoparius). Dort leben allerdings auch mehrere andere ähnliche Sitona-Arten.

A weevil with a small head and large body sits on a lumpy pale grey background. The weevil is shiny dark brown to bronzy black, with the sides and head covered in small white to off white scales.

This handsome #weevil appears to be in the genus #Lachnopus (probably L. curvipes), a group that is endemic & diverse in the Caribbean.

Makroaufnahme eines leuchtend grünen Rüsselkäfers auf einer Blattspitze vor schwarzem Hintergrund. Der Käfer ist von vorne-seitlich zu sehen und zeigt deutlich seinen charakteristischen, nach unten gebogenen Rüssel sowie die geknickten Fühler. Der gesamte Körper ist mit irisierenden, metallisch-grünen Schuppen bedeckt. Die großen, schwarzen Facettenaugen und die feinen Härchen an den Beinen sind im scharfen Fokus gut erkennbar.

Makroaufnahme eines Trichosirocalus troglodytes Rüsselkäfers auf veralgter Holzoberfläche. Das braun-beige gemusterte Tier zeigt den charakteristischen langen, schwarzen Rüssel und die typische gedrungene Körperform dieser heimischen Käferart.

Seitenansicht eines Trichosirocalus troglodytes auf veralgter Holzoberfläche. Deutlich erkennbar sind die fein strukturierte Körperoberfläche, der gebogene Rüssel und die kräftigen, rötlich-braunen Beine des kleinen Rüsselkäfers. Der Käfer läuft gerade, was man an einem im Lauf erhobenen Bein erkennen kann.

Größenvergleich: Ein winziger Trichosirocalus troglodytes neben einem 1-Cent-Euro-Stück auf grauem Untergrund. Die Aufnahme verdeutlicht die geringe Körpergröße dieses heimischen Rüsselkäfers von nur wenigen Millimetern.

Frontale Detailaufnahme eines Trichosirocalus troglodytes auf natürlichem Untergrund. Gut sichtbar sind der lange, dunkle Rüssel, die komplexe Oberflächenstruktur des Panzers und die charakteristische Körperhaltung des Käfers.

Wie winzig der Spitzwegerich-Borstenrüssler (Trichosirocalus troglodytes) ist, kann man bei dem Größenvergleich mit dem 1-Cent-Stück (= 1,625 cm) gut erkennen.
