So I finished #Destined #cdrama yesterday. ❤️

The story was interesting, had fun, slow burn romance, relationship ed, family matters, revenge, war, manipulation.
The pacing was inconsistent: the first half was often slice of life, but the second half went into fast and dense drama mode.

How much both of them changed - even though the changes were forced by the circumstances but it is remarkable, especially for Gu Jiusi ( #BaiJingting ) - from a careless playboy to a responsible and caring general, minister & hubby.

On the positive side #Destined is so far my thing, Bai Jingting's comedic side is hilarious.

I liked him better in #NewLifeBegins but I also liked that drama better than #Destined overall. I'm watching him in #Mobius now and he's doing a fine job. I don't know if I'm a fair judge of what genre suits his style more, since I prefer period dramas.

#Minglan for sure had a malicious concubine - but I only vaguely remember the ones in more recent dramas like #Destined & #Blossom. I know Chinese censorship had a crackdown on harem dramas after #Yanxi so perhaps they’re not quite as prominent as before, but I’m sure they’re still in many dramas.
