On the positive side #Destined is so far my thing, Bai Jingting's comedic side is hilarious.

I liked him better in #NewLifeBegins but I also liked that drama better than #Destined overall. I'm watching him in #Mobius now and he's doing a fine job. I don't know if I'm a fair judge of what genre suits his style more, since I prefer period dramas.

I’m not sure we’re thinking of the same actress? Ai Mi wasn’t in that one - she’s often played supporting roles as a maid - eg, in #Destined & #TheDouble, or more recently a member of a sect in #LoveoftheDivineTree

#Minglan for sure had a malicious concubine - but I only vaguely remember the ones in more recent dramas like #Destined & #Blossom. I know Chinese censorship had a crackdown on harem dramas after #Yanxi so perhaps they’re not quite as prominent as before, but I’m sure they’re still in many dramas.
