A major bonus from today’s visit to Seaton Wetlands was getting amazing views of this brown hairstreak. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one before and I’m led to believe getting views like this can be exceptionally unusual. #Butterflies #UKButterflies #UKWildlife #DevonWildlife

I'm weak willed. I went to the River Otter again this eve, intending to try & re-find the Black-Crowned Night Heron. Instead I got side-tracked watching a Beaver Mum & kits.... Oh dear! Also Kingfisher, Buzzard, Tawny etc. #DevonWildlife

The bears had a feast, played around, pulled some rope out." and after eating a week's worth of honey "Both bears are extremely happy."

Slender Groundhopper (Tetrix subulata) family Tetrigidae. Small relative of grasshopper; common but small and they live close to the ground (not surprisingly) so you usually have to go looking for them, this one was basking on the edge of a raised bed. 4/4/2024 Topsham, Devon.

Periscepsia spathulata (Tachinidae) male. A common parasitoid of various noctuid moths. Fairly easy to identify (for a Tachinid) not least by the distinctive wing venation. 4/4/2024 Topsham, Devon.
