What a busy August it’s been for our group! 🌍✈️
From our Summer Course in Copenhagen to #EPIC25 in Aarhus and #ESEB25 in Barcelona. So great to see so many of our researchers sharing their work through talks and posters!
An inspiring month full of science, learning, and collaboration! 🙌✨
Special thanks to the chairs of #EPIC25 day 2!

Thank you to everyone who made #EPIC25 a success! We're deeply grateful to our amazing organizers, session chairs, and all attendees for creating such a vibrant and inspiring event. 👏 A special thank you to @carlsbergfondet.dk for their support in making this event possible. 🙏
Wrapping up #EPIC25 with a deep dive into #AncientGenomics—covering everything from ancient #environmentalDNA authenticity to the evolutionary history of human genes 🧬 , #wolves 🐺, and ancient Eurasian populations.
Another #EPIC25 session took us into the world of #eDNA, #Metagenomics, and #biodiversity monitoring—from vacuuming animal #DNA out of air to studying #microbes in the deep sea.
Session 5 of #EPIC25 was all about #QuantitativeGenetics were we covered topics going from purifying selection in human traits, the genetics of tooth eruption, and large-scale scans for transmission ratio distortion of variants.
Second and last day of #EPIC25 began with a session on #Methods for statistical and evolutionary #genomics - featuring talks on species tree inference, archaic introgression, gene conversion, and other cutting-edge tools.
Day 1 of #EPIC25
Cool talk by Marta Ciucani (KU) on the giant forest hog and what its #genome reveals about the evolutionary history of its subspecies.
Day 1 of #EPIC25
@sagitaninta.bsky.social (KU) presented her work on Indonesian cattle and the evolutionary forces shaping their genomic landscape.
Day 1 of #EPIC25
Great talk by @anttimietti.bsky.social (AU) about #invasion #genomics of freshwater #mussels
Day 1 of #EPIC25
Interesting insights into the genetics behind certain traits and chemotypes in #thyme populations and how these can lead to local #adaptation by @erillgenis.bsky.social (AU)
Day 1 of #EPIC25
Jonas Wesseltoft (Aarhus University - AU) uncovered how Greenland’s #arthropods cope with #heat and fluctuating temperatures.
Day 1 of #EPIC25
Jule Drewalowski (KU) showed us how #comparative #genomics can be applied to the diverse order of syngnathiform #fishes 🐠 to investigate the presence/absence of stomachs and more! Super interesting!
Day 1 of #EPIC25
Nuno Martins (KU) presented his preliminary analyses on the Greenlandic #reindeers
Day 1 of #EPIC25
Great talk by @lauratensen.bsky.social (Copenhagen University - KU) about her beautiful #seadragons from #Australia.
