🍻 I’ve launched the Publicans’ Network to support our amazing local pubs across Ely & East Cambs. Great first meeting at the Three Kings in Haddenham — real issues raised, real action to come.

Yesterday I visted Staploe Medical Centre in #Soham to hear GPs’ concerns about rising employer NI contributions and the strain on primary care. Grateful for their hard work—our practices need proper support to keep delivering vital services. #EastCambs #PrimaryCare #NHS

My favourite field was one apparently set aside at Weston Colville.
Puzzled by one at Willingham Green that seemed a monoculture of Small-flowered Cranesbill.
Barley looking almost ripe, and the Wheat getting there.
Other crops were Rape & Peas.

Skylarks over the pea field undaunted in their frenzied singing into the still, dank, cool air yesterday, despite it being rather enervating, the overcast, low cloud turning to intermittent drizzle.

Snow drifts of willow down on the River Snail through Fordham Woods, also rendering the trees in soft focus where trapped in spiders' webs.

Wonder if the absence of fish diversity in the River Kennett downstream of Badlingham, despite its lovely clear rushing water and #chalkstream plants, is due to the brutally steep, deep banks of this heavily modified channel?
