Fieldwork should be an opportunity for discovery and collaboration, but for many, it comes with significant risks. Studies reveal that harassment and assault are alarmingly common, with marginalized groups—including women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people of color—facing disproportionate harm. Even more concerning, the majority of incidents go unreported, leaving these issues unaddressed and perpetuating unsafe conditions.
At FieldFutures, we’re committed to changing this reality. We deliver tailored, research-driven training that empowers field teams and institutions to recognize, prevent, and respond to harassment and assault. By focusing on practical, field-specific strategies, we aim to transform fieldwork into a space where everyone feels safe, respected, and able to contribute fully.
