In the microcosm #finishitfebruary is getting closer. this week I rewrote a chapter coz it had the perfect quote in it by someone who's name is in da files so it had to go. I'm exhausted with rage, and empathy for the thousands of victims. I have yet to find out how to function through this.

I actually have something for #FOFriday, I finished my Xmas cast on! It came out exactly as I imagined. It feels nice to get to a stage in my craft where I can create what I can visualise ☺️

A piece of tie-dyed fabric, cut into a blunted triangle. Near the top is and orange burst with flower petals outlined in white. Out from that is a reddish purple out to blues and whites. There are lines of large, white stitches running vertically.
For #finishitfebruary, I've picked up working on Partner's tie-dyed summer top again. This rayon is beautiful, but by far the shiftiest fabric I've worked with, even after starching. My solution is to baste it to the lining fabric so that I can make sure the darts match. #sewsky

I’m interested, I’ve got a few wips or planned knits that need moving along at least. Usually I do #FinishItFebruary but I could do non-knit projects then.

For #FinishItFebruary, I finished 6 of 7 WIP’s, mended 5 of 6 things planned, but now have to mend a snag on one of the WIP’s I’d finished. 😢 Content with my progress. Now “shopping my queue” for the next few projects!

One day to go and I’ve finish my second FO! Obviously I won’t be able to wear this top until it warms up but it’s done. I don’t have enough time to finish anything else but I think I’ll continue doing the spinning through March while doing mending too.

5 skeins of Corriedale 2ply. The first is my first sample, using all 4 colours in random stripes to make a random barber pole yarn. The next three are purple and grey random barber pole yarn. These 4 skeins were spun using my first drop spindle. The last skein has the same colour treatment as the first but was spun on my mini Turkish spindle. This is the skein I’m trying to emulate now.

Because I’ve finished the socks I can add another UFO to my rotation: this Corriedale spin I started when I first learned to spin back in 2021. I can really tell how much I’ve improved when I look at these skeins!
This is the state this #wip sweater has been in for over a year. I literally only need to knit the cuff and it’s done. #FinishItFebruary give me the willpower.
