If you have a big space to fill then you need big pipes and these are seriously big pipes....

Not the most impressive of organs but the continuous double pointed arch with slight chamfer is rather unusual. In fact Mouse couldn't decide if it's part of the C19 rebuild or a reset medieval arch from the earlier church #FridayPipes from #StGeorgeEastonInGordano #NorthSomerset

The modern framed by the ancient. Pretty elaborate organ showcased by the exquisite and detailed architectural carving of the screen. It's sometimes difficult to believe that this is wood and was shaped over 500 years ago #StGeorgeDunster #Somerset for #FridayPipes

There's a certain steam punk quality to these #FridayPipes

Time for a toot on the #FridayPipes from #StAndrewStogursey #Somerset. Very colourful but if it was Mouse she'd have bought one that fitted. The random plastic chair (Mouse left it in for effect) symptomatic of the need for a good tidy up and clear out here. East bay, north aisle

North aisle. Easternmost bay of arcade #StMaryCannington #Somerset

Separately the wrought iron screen (once guarding a tomb) and the ornate organ would look beautiful but together they form the mishiest mash of an image

A little something for #FridayPipes from #StMartinFiddington #Somerset

There's something of the decorated narrowboat about these finely painted pipes. A snug fit for the tall narrow moulded west tower arch

Beautifully painted organ pipes (the panel roof of the chapel isn't half bad for that matter)

Ancient and modern ...

Mouse woke up this morning and realised that she hadn't shared her #FridayPipes. Well here they are accompanied by a KORG keyboard and a TV screen. East of south aisle #StMaryHutton #Somerset

Arcade leading to early C20 vestry. Those arches though. Oh really (Mouse say with some indignation)

Set in the westernmost bay of a 2-bay arcade. The arch arrangement is most curious, but it's probably early C20 anyway

And finally from Mouse, a little glimpse of pipes for #FridayPipes. Most churches have an organ that obscures at least one architectural detail, here at #StAndrewComptonBishop #Somerset the organ is discretely installed to the west of the north aisle. Perfect. Maybe pitch perfect

Delicate pipes placed either side of C13 stepped lancet 3-light stained glass window. This is lovely design, normally a massive organ just obscures everything #FridayPipes

It's been a while but how about some #FridayPipes? Framed by the tall C13 double ovollo tower arch and backlit by fragments of C15 glass set in dagger tracery, this was well worth waiting for #StGregoryWeare #Somerset
