It was a beautiful morning for the annual coordinated #GreenSandpiper count on the R Ely today. We had a safe count of 10 birds, with a possible max of 15. That’s one more than Jan 2025 but down on our highest safe count of 15 birds in Jan 2023.

This is the legendary #GreenSandpiper hotspot on the River Ely. Only one Green Sand there on today’s #WeBS count with @jayeffdee8.bsky.social, probably because the river level was so high.
